MAXPANEL FEATURE SPOTLIGHT

DNS management.
Built into MaxPanel.

MaxPanel is web hosting control panel software for your own server. Give customers a built-in DNS control panel to connect their websites, direct their email, and add the records their services need.

You operate the server and nameservers. Your customers manage their domain records in MaxPanel.

Keep domain changes close to the website.

Customers can update DNS in the same panel they use for websites, files, and email. Give them a clear place to manage everyday changes.

Start new domains with useful defaults.

Once your DNS is configured, MaxPanel creates zones and starting website and mail records when you add domains. Reduce repetitive setup for your team.

Leave room for each customer’s services.

Add records for a connected service, change a destination, or adjust its cache lifetime. Customers can manage the details their domain needs.

A WORKSPACE CUSTOMERS CAN USE

Clear record management.

Names, record types, values, and cache lifetimes stay together. Explore these examples to see the everyday work customers can handle inside MaxPanel.

POINT A NAME TO A WEBSITE

Connect the domain.
Keep the record visible.

An A record points a domain name to a website’s IPv4 address. Customers can view or update that destination in their domain’s DNS workspace.

  • Add records through a built-in form.
  • Review the full record name before adding it.
  • Edit values and cache lifetimes in one place.

LESS REPETITIVE SETUP

Set your defaults.
Give new domains a start.

Configure your server address and nameserver names in MaxPanel. New domain zones begin with records for the website, www, and mail, giving your team a consistent starting point.

When you configure email, MaxPanel can also publish its mail routing and authentication records into the matching panel-managed zone. Keep website and email setup connected.

DNS must be configured and the domain delegated to your nameservers. Email authentication records depend on your mail setup.

Your nameserver settings

Choose the defaults used for new domain zones.

Starting records for new domains

Create useful website and mail records as domains are added.

Connected email setup

Publish MX, SPF, DKIM, and DMARC where the required mail services and local DNS zone are available.

ABOUT THIS MAXPANEL FEATURE

DNS management,
explained.

Is MaxPanel a DNS hosting service?

MaxPanel is web hosting control panel software for your own server. It includes tools to run and manage your server’s DNS service. You provide the server, nameservers, and hosting service for your customers.

Do customers need to change their nameservers?

For records in MaxPanel to control the domain’s public DNS, the domain must use the nameservers you configure. Nameserver changes and any required registration are handled at the domain registrar.

Can a customer keep DNS with another provider?

Yes. In that case, update the domain’s records at that provider. Changes in MaxPanel do not automatically update an external DNS service.

Do DNS changes take effect immediately everywhere?

Other DNS services and devices can keep earlier answers in their caches. MaxPanel lets customers set a record’s cache lifetime, called TTL, but worldwide updates are not instant.

Can customers manage their own records?

Yes. Customers can add, edit, and delete records for domains in their account. Records show their name, type, value, and cache lifetime. Host administrators can also inspect and manage domain records.

Does this include DNSSEC or DNS cluster management?

These features are not currently included in MaxPanel’s DNS workspace. This spotlight covers domain zones and record management on your configured server.
