Try changes on a separate copy
Create a staging copy of the site’s files and database. Review a theme, plugin, or content change before publishing it to live.
Decide when the copy goes live
Publish the staging copy when your checks are complete, or discard it and keep working with the live site.

Know what the
control panel handles.
Is this WordPress hosting or control panel software?
MaxPanel is control panel software that runs on your own server. This page describes its built-in WordPress and hosting-management tools. You provide the server and the hosting service.
What does the WordPress installer set up?
Choose a customer account and domain, enter the site and administrator details, and MaxPanel installs WordPress with a database and database user. You can also choose an installation subfolder.
What can I do with a staging copy?
Test a theme, plugin, or content change on a copy of the site with its own database. You can publish that copy to live after review or discard it. Staging uses the account’s available storage and database allowance.
Does publishing merge only my latest changes?
No. Publishing replaces the live files and database with the staging copy. Keep a current full backup and plan for anything added to the live site since staging was created, including orders and comments.
Is the saved live-file copy a full backup?
No. You can choose to retain a copy of the live website files when publishing, but that does not preserve the old live database. Use a full backup plan for recovery.
Does MaxPanel automatically manage every plugin update?
This spotlight covers installation, staging, publishing, and supporting hosting tools. Routine WordPress, theme, and plugin maintenance still needs your chosen workflow. Test compatibility and updates before publishing changes.
