Changing your password and account email

Changing your password and account email

What you'll learn: how to change the password and email address on your hosting account.

Changing your password

  1. Click your username in the top-right corner of the panel.
  2. Choose Change password.
  3. Enter your current password.
  4. Enter your new password (twice to confirm).
  5. Click Save.

You'll stay signed in — you don't need to log in again.

Pick a strong password (at least 12 characters, mix of letters, numbers, symbols). Don't reuse a password you use elsewhere — a password manager is your friend.

Changing your account email

The email on your account is used for password resets and notifications.

  1. Click your username in the top-right corner.
  2. Choose Account settings.
  3. Update Email.
  4. Click Save.

You may be asked to confirm the change by clicking a link sent to the new email address.

Two-factor authentication (2FA) means that even if someone steals your password, they can't get into your account without a second code from your phone. It takes 30 seconds to set up.

  1. Click your username → Account settingsTwo-factor authentication.
  2. Pick Authenticator app (recommended — works with Google Authenticator, Authy, 1Password, Bitwarden, etc.).
  3. Open your authenticator app and scan the QR code shown on screen.
  4. Type the 6-digit code from your app into the panel to confirm.
  5. Save the recovery codes somewhere safe — you'll need them if you lose your phone.

I forgot my password

  1. On the login screen, click Forgot password?.
  2. Enter the email on your account.
  3. Check your email for a reset link.
  4. Set a new password.

If you don't get the email after a couple of minutes, check spam. Still nothing? Your hosting provider can reset it for you.

I lost my 2FA device

Use one of the recovery codes you saved when setting up 2FA. If you don't have those either, your hosting provider can disable 2FA on your account so you can log in with just your password — then re-enable it on a new device.

Tips

  • Different password for everything. Especially for hosting — your hosting account controls a lot.
  • Don't share your login. If a contractor needs access to your site, give them their own account inside the app (e.g. WordPress) instead.
  • Keep recovery codes printed somewhere safe — a folder, a safe, anywhere not on the same device as your authenticator.

If something goes wrong

  • "Current password incorrect" — careful, it's case-sensitive. Try again, then use the forgot-password flow if needed.
  • You changed your email and didn't get the confirmation — check spam. If still missing, ask your hosting provider to verify the change manually.
