Welcome to your hosting account
Welcome to your hosting account
What you'll learn: what your hosting account is, what you can do with it, and how to get started in your first 10 minutes.
Welcome! Your hosting provider has set up a hosting account for you on MaxPanel. This guide is the friendliest possible introduction to what you've got.
What's a "hosting account"?
It's your private space on a server, where you can:
- Host one or more websites (like your business site, a portfolio, a WordPress blog).
- Create email addresses at your own domain (like
you@yourbusiness.com). - Run databases for your apps and websites.
- Take backups so you can restore things if something goes wrong.
Your hosting provider has assigned you a "package" with certain limits — for example, how much disk space you have, how many mailboxes you can create. You can see your usage at any time on the home page.
Logging in for the first time
Your hosting provider gave you three things:
- A panel address — looks like
https://panel.example.com - A username
- A temporary password
To log in:
- Open the panel address in any browser.
- Type your username and password.
- Click Log in.

Please change your password right away. Click your username in the top-right corner and choose Change password. Pick something strong that you don't use anywhere else.
Your home page
Once you're in, you'll land on the Home page. It shows:
- A snapshot of your usage (disk, mailboxes, databases) against your limits.
- Quick links to common things like adding a domain or creating a mailbox.

What's in the sidebar
Down the left:
- Home — where you are.
- Sites — Domains, DNS, Files, and the one-click app installer.
- Databases — for WordPress and other apps that need one.
- Mail — your email mailboxes and forwarding.
Each section has its own friendly guide in this help center.
Your first 10 minutes — a suggested path
If you're not sure where to start, try this:
- Add a domain. This is the website address you want to host. → Adding your first domain
- Create a mailbox. Get yourself an email address at your own domain. → Creating a mailbox for your domain
- Install WordPress (optional). If you want a website fast. → Installing WordPress in one click
That's it. Welcome aboard — we built MaxPanel to be friendly, and we hope it feels that way to you.
If something goes wrong
- Can't log in — double-check the panel URL and that your username and password are typed exactly as your provider gave them. If you've forgotten the password, ask your provider to reset it.
- The page looks empty or broken — try refreshing once. If it persists, your provider may be doing maintenance.
For anything else, your hosting provider is your first point of contact — they know your account best.
